Ryan’s Snickers Birthday Cake

2 Mar

Yesterday was Ryan’s birthday. His birthday cake request was Snickers. I wasn’t really sure how to make that happen, but I found the best parts of a couple recipes and hoped for the best.

I used a German Chocolate box cake with applesauce instead of oil to make it a little more moist.

The Snickers part came between the layers. I melted a little bit of butter with about a 1/3 cup of milk. Then unwrapped 20-30 caramels.

Stay patient and let it all melt together.

Chop some peanuts then put them on top of the first layer.

Then pour the caramel on top. This got really messy! Put the chocolate chips on top of the mess.

Try to clean it up the best you can with a spatula.

Place the other layer on top.

Ice the cake with milk chocolate icing. After that I used a wet paper towel to clean off the rest of the caramel on the cake stand.

Chop some real Snickers bars and put then on top.

Look at that caramel oozing out! You know that was good.

Happy Birthday Ry!
