Hill Family Favorites

20 Dec

This morning, I realized I have made a habit of only posting new recipes. Those days are over!

Here are 2 Hill Family Favorites that I am whipping up for dinner tonight.

Beef Stroganoff

Serves 4

Ingredients:

2 lb. Round Steak

1/2- 1 stick Butter

1 Onion

1 Can Beef Bouillion

6 oz Sour Cream

Salt & Pepper

Egg Noddles

Directions:

Melt butter in a skillet. Slice onion into thin rings. Cut meat into small pieces. Brown meat on both sides (get the color off). Add onion, cook down a bit. (Onion can be left out). Add buillion, salt & pepper. Cover, cook on low for 2 hours. Just before serving, blend in sour cream. Serve over egg noddles.

*Since this recipe takes a good bit of time, so I have started making it in the Crock pot. There is nothing like cutting onions and cooking meat at 7:30 am. YUM.

Oreo and Peppermint Ice Cream Goodness

Ingredients:

A Package of Oreos

Peppermint Ice Cream (use Mint Chocolate Chip during the off season or whatever other kind you like)

Chocolate Syrup

Directions:

Crush the package of oreos. Empty 3/4  of the crushed cookie into the bottom a 9 x 13 Pyrex dish. Melt the ice cream in the microwave or leave it sitting on the counter. It doesn’t need to be milkshake consistency, but not frozen like a rock. Spread the semi-melted ice cream over the oreos. Sprinkle the rest of the oreos on top and squirt some chocolate syrup. (Another alternative is to make Hot Fudge and put it on top when you serve.) Cover and freeze completely. Cut into squares and serve.

You will not be disappointed by either of these favorites.
