Thanks to the gorgeous weather and a free weekend, Ryan & I were able to do some yard work. I didn’t realize how bad it really was until I looked at the before and after pictures. We headed to Home Depot and filled the Jeep to the brim…. notice the fern in my lap and wood between us:
Here is the before:
We decided the concrete stuff had to go and that whatever was around the trees wasn’t very attractive.
Then we took out all the plants in the flower bed just to put them back again in a more organized fashion. We also trashed some of them that were looking dead.
And 7 bags of mulch later, the yard was looking good. I also picked out some flowers and a couple ferns to line the stairs. I love the little hint of color it adds.
Sunday, we transplanted our indoor garden to the raised bed. We also added another box to make it a little taller so we could add some more layers of soil.
Its strange to me that all of this was in our kitchen. I have grown really attached to these plants and got really sad when some of them didn’t make it through the transplant process… Ryan thought I was crying.
So far, so good with these little guys!! We also planted some basil and cilantro. YUMMMMMM. I will probably be eating salsa every day this summer.
After we finished all of our yard work, we had to stay outside and enjoy the perfect weather. So we played cards and drank smoothies on our porch. This is livin:

Working in the yard is hard work, but very satisfying when you see the beautiful results. Everything is looking good!
Love before and after.
